Unborn Tomorrows, Dead Yesterdays

By Joboy M Chacko | Trivandrum, India | May 11, 2023 | Share A Thought

Man is concerned with tomorrows that have yet to be born and yesterday that have passed away. Constantly anxious about the poor decision that led to present instances. The mind is continually flooded with thoughts like, "If only I had signed that contract, I would be a business magnate today". Followed by thoughts that spiral you downward emotionally like, "My days are all over". "I don't know if what lies ahead of me is good. What about what happens to my kids?"

The human mind often wanders to many different ideas. The human mind is an ocean of ideas, as a famous person once quoted, " We must keep in mind that we don't need to focus too much on the past or the future".

The past has passed. This chapter is complete. The present is not yet the future. Jesus advised people in Matthew 6 asking them not to worry about their lives, what they would eat or drink, or their bodies, what they would wear. Isn't life worth more than food, and health is more important than looks? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow, gather, nor gather into barns to store food, but your heavenly Father provides for them anyway. In any case, aren't you more valuable than these birds?

Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself." So think about today. How can we cope with today's deadlines? How can we complete today's schedules? How can we tide over today's obstacles?

As Fitz Gerald rightly puts it "Do not worry about dead yesterday. Never fret about unborn tomorrows. Try to make today sweet".

May God bless you.
